Please join
us for the Second Annual Magnolia’s Run for a Reason, on
Sunday, October 8th at 75th & Wornall in
the Waldo neighborhood of Kansas City. The whole family
will enjoy a 5K Run/Walk or 2K Family Fitness Walk, fun
activities for the kids, raffle drawings, music and
great food! Events and
registration begin
at 7:00am. Costumes are encouraged, but not
required.
David and Renee Handley, along with
family and friends are hosting the event in honor of
their beautiful blossom, Magnolia, who died in September
of 2004. Maggie was a joyful, exuberant, healthy 23
month old who died suddenly for no apparent reason. Her
death is considered to be
Sudden Unexplained Death in Children
(SUDC) , which is
similar to SIDS but affects children after their first
birthday.
Money raised
will go to fund research and other support services in
the area of SUDC. The SUDC Program is part of the CJ
Foundation for SIDS-a national health organization
leading the fight against SIDS and SUDC.
